Newton ? Lawrence High’s gymnastics team posted a season-high score of 98.025 points and took fifth place at the state meet on Saturday at Newton.

LHS senior Ashley Ammann took fourth place overall in the floor exercise, scoring a 9.3 on her routine. She also scored a team-best 8.25 on the balance beam and 8.025 on the uneven bars.

Freshman Eden Kingery scored a team-high 8.675 on the vault, while sophomore Eliana Seidner added an 8.575. Junior Jordyn Leon added an 8.35 on the floor and 7.85 on the bars.

After qualifying as an individual, Free State High senior Callie Hicks took fourth place on the bars (8.75) and fifth on the vault (9.15).
