Lawrence Public Library to host discussion on health care

The Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St., is hoping to spark a conversation about important health care issues.

Sunday afternoon, Jim McClean of the Kansas Health Institute News Service and Sandy Praeger, former Kansas insurance commissioner, will lead that conversation, specifically as it relates to the Affordable Care Act, the library said in a release.

The open discourse is meant to address what can be done to ensure Kansans have access to healthcare, the release said.

The conversation and a question-and-answer session will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the library’s auditorium, the release said. The event is free and open to the public.
