KU Crime Blotter: Week of Nov. 2 through Nov. 8

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, Nov. 2, and Sunday, Nov. 8. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

Nov. 8

• A drug offense occurred about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 500 block of West 11th Street. Someone was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and arrested.

• Criminal damage occurred between Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 in the 1600 block of West 15th Street. Someone vandalized a vehicle, causing an estimated $550 in damage.

• Someone stole a seat and a rear flasher light from a bicycle secured to a bike rack Nov. 8 at Budig Hall. Loss was valued at $40.

Nov. 7

• A drug offense occurred just before midnight Nov. 7 in the 500 block of West 11th Street. While on a traffic stop, a driver was found to be in possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and a fake driver’s license. The person was arrested.

Nov. 6

• Police investigated a drug offense about 11:45 p.m. Nov. 6 at Hashinger Hall. A search of a dorm room yielded evidence of drug paraphernalia and possession and distribution of a controlled substance.

• Someone pulled a parking meter out of the ground in the 1200 block of Schwegler Drive sometime between Nov. 5 and Nov. 6. Damage was estimated at $200.

• A theft occurred at the Engineering Complex sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5. Someone took property, valued at $270, out of a classroom.

Nov. 5

• A drug offense occurred about 10:15 p.m. Nov. 5 in the 2600 block of Petefish Drive. During a vehicle investigation, police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia and made an arrest.

• Someone burglarized a car and stole two backpacks in the 1300 block of Mississippi Street, sometime between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2. The backpacks and their contents were valued at $2,025.

Nov. 3

• Someone stole a black “street style” Trek bicycle from Self Hall, sometime between between Oct. 28 and Nov. 2. Loss was valued at $600.

Nov. 2

• Burglary, criminal damage and theft occurred between 1 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. Nov. 2 at Memorial Stadium. The goal post was taken from the south side of the stadium. Loss was valued at $13,000. (See related story.)

• A burglary and theft occurred between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2 in the 2500 block of Petefish Drive, at the band practice field. Someone cut the lock on a storage unit and stole property. Value of loss was $3,250.

• Criminal damage occurred between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2 in the 1100 block of Fambrough Way. Someone scratched the side of a car with an object, causing $1,000 in damage.

• A theft occurred in Learned Hall between Oct. 30 and Nov. 1. Someone stole computer equipment from an unlocked room. Loss was valued at $2,664.

• Someone took a bicycle seat, light and tools Nov. 2 at Budig Hall. Value of loss was $250.
