Wide receiver Shakiem Barbel alertly fell on a fumble for a TD after it was poked out of De’Andre Mann’s hand just shy of the goal line.
Reserve quarterback Keaton Perry, a freshman, threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Darious Crawley with 1:07 left in the game.
Gassers
Game wasn’t five minutes old and cornerback Marnez Ogletree already had been beaten for pass plays covering 84 yards (touchdown) and 37 yards.
Derrick Neal muffed a punt that was recovered by Texas.
