Three injured in multi-vehicle crash on K-10

Three people were injured Thursday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash on Kansas Highway 10, police said.

Around 2:39 p.m., a car northbound on K-10, near mile marker 1, north of Sixth Street, hydroplaned during heavy rain and crossed the center line, hitting a southbound car, the Kansas Highway Patrol said in an accident report. The southbound car was turned by the impact and hit by a third car, which also had been southbound.

The driver of the northbound car, a man from Overland Park, was injured in the crash and taken to Stormont-Vail hospital in Topeka, the report said. The driver and passenger of the first southbound car, a woman from Topeka and a man from Overland Park, were injured and transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

No further information was available Thursday night.
