Matthew “Cougar” Downing Jr. has been named men’s head basketball coach at Haskell Indian Nations University.

Downing, a former coach at Seabury Academy, has coached at every level over the past 20 years and played college basketball at Maryland and Dodge City.

Downing played high school basketball at Atchison, where he was a first-team all-state selection as a senior.
