One of two men charged in alleged Haskell dorm rape pleads not guilty to all charges

A 19-year-old Anadarko, Okla., man pleaded not guilty on Thursday to all charges related to an alleged Nov. 15, 2014, rape in a Haskell Indian Nations University dorm room.

The man is charged with two counts of rape and one count of sodomy following allegations that he and his then-Haskell dorm roommate sexually assaulted a female Haskell student in their dorm room. Both defendants were expelled from Haskell in light of the allegations.

Also at the arraignment Thursday, Douglas County District Judge Paula Martin set the man’s trial for Oct. 19. It is expected to last five days.

The 19-year-old’s codefendant, a 20-year-old Anadarko, Okla., man, is expected to enter a plea next Thursday. The 20-year-old is charged with three counts of rape by force or fear, one count of aiding and abetting attempted aggravated criminal sodomy and one count of aiding and abetting attempted rape.

The two were bound over for trial after a preliminary hearing in March. They are both out on bond and staying with family in Oklahoma.
