Olathe ? Free State High’s softball team concluded its regular season with a 3-2 win over Olathe East on Thursday.

The game had been suspended due to rain on May 5, and the Firebirds and Hawks resumed play Thursday with no score in the fourth inning.

FSHS (12-8 overall, 8-3 Sunflower League) scored all of its runs in the top of the sixth inning, highlighted by RBI doubles from Kate Stanwix and Mayah Daniels.

“We got some timely hitting in the sixth inning,” FSHS coach Lee Ice said.

Kylie Cobb went 3-for-3 to help Elizabeth Patton to earn the victory. Patton limited the Hawks to three hits and kept Olate East scoreless until the sixth.
