Five members of Kansas University’s softball team were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Midwest All-Region team on Thursday.

Seniors Maddie Stein and Alicia Pille earned second-team honors, and freshman Daniella Chavez and juniors Chaley Brickey and Briana Evans were named third-team selections.

The five players will lead the Jayhawks as they compete in the NCAA Tournament, which will begin with a first-round matchup against Louisville at noon today in Columbia, Missouri.
