KU School of Music faculty to perform in ‘A Spring Fling with Strings’

Theatre Lawrence, 4660 Bauer Farm Drive, will host “A Spring Fling with Strings” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. As part of the Dave and Gunda Hiebert Concert Series, the evening will feature the talents of the “Kansas Virtuosi,” a group of musicians from the Kansas University School of Music faculty.

“A Spring Fling With Strings” will celebrate European masterpieces from three different centuries, including Jacques Ibert’s “Piece for Flute Alone,” Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Quartet for Piano and Winds, K. 452” and arias by George Frederick Handel.

Performers include: Julia Broxholm, soprano; Sarah Frisof, flute; Margaret Marco, oboe; Veronique Mathieu, violin; Ellen Sommer, piano; Paul Stevens, French horn; Eric Stomberg, bassoon; and Robert Walzel, clarinet.
