Lawrence Fire: Man taken to hospital after becoming pinned under his own car
One man was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after he became pinned under his own vehicle, a Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical official said.
Around 6:37 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Legends Restaurant, 1540 Wakarusa Drive, Capt. Ben Dennis said.
The victim’s vehicle unexpectedly moved, pinning his leg under the car, Dennis said. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
The victim was the only person in his car, Dennis said. No other injuries were reported.
The victim was transported by ambulance to KU Medical Center with what non-life-threatening injuries, Dennis said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
