Lawrence police investigating report of road rage

Lawrence police are investigating a case of road rage that reportedly occurred Tuesday afternoon in the 2200 block of Iowa Street.

A Lawrence woman, 31, told police that she was driving southbound on Iowa at about 4 p.m., behind a white late-model truck with her two children, ages 9 and 7, according to Kim L. Murphree, a police spokeswoman.

The woman said the truck changed lanes and almost hit her vehicle, Murphree said.

To avoid an accident, the woman changed lanes, Murphree said. The truck pulled up on the woman’s left side. When she looked over, she saw the driver was holding what she believed was a gun and was pointing it at her.

The woman took side streets to get to her home safely.

Lawrence police have not found the truck and are continuing to investigate, Murphree said.
