Today in Lawrence: Beat the drizzle, pre-game the primary

Chilly start

Things will start out just a little warmer, but not much, this week than last. Look for lots of cloud cover with a high of 40 this afternoon and overnight low near freezing. The evening could bring on some light drizzle, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka, so grab your umbrella before heading out late.

Future forecast

If raindrops keep you indoors this evening, here’s an option to stay dry: Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts St., is hosting a special screening of “The Raising of America: Early Childhood and the Future of Our Nation” at 7 p.m. A discussion of the film will follow.

Election primer

Finally, today’s your final chance to bone up on all the City Commission and school board candidates ahead of Tuesday’s primary election. We’ve got you covered with in-depth profiles and Q&A with all the candidates at our Election 2015 headquarters.
