Jayhawk takes over at Indiana

Former Kansas University tight end Lyonel Anderson, who played with the Jayhawks from 2003-04, earlier this week was named the head strength coach for Indiana University basketball.

Anderson, who spent 2014 working with the University of Houston football program and was with Indiana football from 2012-13, takes over for Je’Ney Jackson, who left Tom Crean’s program in Bloomington, Indiana, to become the head strength coach with KU football this winter.

Anderson began his coaching career as a grad assistant at KU in 2008.

“I’m extremely excited to work for a great coach like Tom Crean,” Anderson said in an IU news release. “This is like my Super Bowl. Every day I will have the opportunity to work with elite-level athletes and elite-level young men. I cannot thank coach enough for allowing me to be a part of this program.”
