Cleveland ? Newly acquired Royals ace Johnny Cueto will make his debut for Kansas City on Friday in Toronto.

Cueto was acquired on Sunday in a trade with Cincinnati for left-handers Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb and Cody Reed. Cueto, who won 20 games last season for the Reds, is still getting personal business in order and plans to join the AL’s best team today.

The Royals felt they needed a proven top-of-the-rotation starter to solidify their staff and dealt for Cueto, who is 7-6 with a 2.62 ERA in 19 starts.
