From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for July 8, 1990:

Douglas County commissioners were planning to hold a budget work session to consider preliminary funding levels for outside agencies and programs that received county funds. The funding levels were to be included in the overall recommended 1991 county budget. One budget under discussion was that of the Douglas County Extension Council. The council, which had received no budget increase the previous year, had requested a 1991 budget of $252,290, up $16,099 or 6.82 percent from the year before.
