The Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association will recognize local residents and businesses committed to community health care at its annual meeting on Wednesday, according to a news release.

The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Arterra Event Gallery, 2161 Quail Creek Drive.

During the meeting, the association will announce incoming board members Becky Gibson, Jason Hoover, Todd Southerland and Charles Yockey. Outgoing board members Dale Denning, Marilyn Dobski, Ted Haggart and Kurt von Achen will also be thanked at the meeting.

Eleven Elizabeth Watkins Community Caring Award winners will also be recognized at the meeting for their contributions to local health care.

LMHEA Board President Valentino Stella said in the release that the association needs to grow in order for the hospital staff to continue providing exemplary patient care.

“During the 40-plus years I’ve lived in Lawrence, I’ve watched our hospital grow and expand into a place that should be the envy of all residents of cities our size,” he said.
