Sunflower Series

KU and K-State will be playing for the 111th time tonight, with the Wildcats owning a 64-46 advantage in the all-time series. KU has won four of the last six meetings and the last five games have been decided by single-digit margins, including two overtime victories for Kansas.

Last meeting

Despite leading their match-up in Manhattan on Jan. 11 for more than 25 minutes, the Jayhawks fell to the Wildcats, 58-52, thanks largely to 23 turnovers, 14 of which came in the second half, which K-State won 30-17. Freshman Chayla Cheadle led KU with 15 points and senior forward Chelsea Gardner added 13.

Streaking

Freshman guard Lauren Aldridge enjoyed the best scoring night of her career during KU’s loss at Oklahoma State last weekend. Aldridge hit five of seven field goal attempts, including all four from three-point range, and tallied 16 points in 40 minutes. It marked the third time in the past four games that the 5-foot-7 point guard from Marshfield, Missouri, had played 40 minutes in a game.

Slumping

Freshman guard Terriell Bradley saw her shooting slump continue against OSU with a 2-for-8 shooting performance. Since making five of seven shots and scoring 13 points in a loss to Baylor on Feb. 1, Bradley has made just nine shots in 36 tries during a six-game span.
