Visiting ceramic artist to discuss ‘Wildness Within’ at KU

Beth Cavener, a Washington state-based artist known for creating emotionally charged animal sculptures, will talk about her creative process Thursday at the Spencer Museum of Art.

The lecture, titled “Beth Cavener: The Wildness Within,” will be from 6 to 7 p.m. in the 309 Auditorium at the museum, 1301 Mississippi St.

Cavener is currently a visiting artist at KU, where she is hosting a ceramics workshop through this week that is free and open to the public. As part of the workshop, visual-art students are collaborating with Cavener on a life-sized rabbit sculpture.
