Raven to host eclectic author Stuart Levine
Local author, musician and retired Kansas University professor Stuart Levine will read from his new book of short stories “Are You Superman?” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Raven Book Store, 6 E. Seventh St.
In “Superman,” Levine draws on real-life experiences from an eclectic career and turns them into works of fiction. In his life, Levine has worked as a retail clerk, truck driver, fast-food server, artist, teacher, network music commentator, KU professor and department chairman, and scholarly editor.
His stories, some written under the pseudonym Esteban O’Brien Córdoba, have appeared in Chicago Review, South Dakota Review, Aethlon, Short Story and other magazines. Most recently he wrote the murder-mystery novel “Killing in Okaraygua” and is working on forthcoming sequel to it called “The Dictator’s Daughter.”
“Are You Superman?” is available for purchase at the Raven and the KU Bookstore in the Kansas Union.
