Over a half-inch of rain fell on Lawrence early Monday morning, according to measurements taken at Lawrence Municipal Airport.

Overnight thunderstorms brought 0.6 inches of precipitation between midnight and 3 a.m.

Nearly an inch of rain was recorded in a 24-hour period, after 0.42 inches of precipitation were recorded between midnight and 10 a.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Topeka expects more rain throughout the week. As of Monday morning, the seven-day Douglas County forecast listed chances for showers and thunderstorms from Tuesday night through Sunday.
