Sandbar’s ‘shark attack photo opp’ board stolen in downtown Lawrence
Someone has stolen the Sandbar’s “shark attack photo opp” board in downtown Lawrence.
The theft occurred sometime overnight, said Sgt. Myrone Grady of the Lawrence Police Department. The photo board is usually displayed on the sidewalk outside of the Sandbar bar, 17 E. 8th St.
The photo board, made of plywood and depicting a shark poised to devour a person, allows patrons to put their heads through a cut-out where the victim’s head would be. The Sandbar has taken to its website and Twitter to ask for the photo board’s safe return.
No one has reported seeing the photo board stolen, and there are currently no suspects, Grady said.
