The No. 2 doubles tandem of Seamus Ryan and Jonah Pester led Free State High’s boys tennis team to a third-place finish Tuesday at the FSHS Quad at Rock Chalk Park.

Ryan and Pester defeated Shawnee Mission North, 9-4, and Shawnee Mission Northwest, 9-7, and fell to team champion Olathe Northwest, 9-4.

Ian Pultz-Earle and Erik Czapinski teamed up to defeat Shawnee Mission North, 9-1, for their lone doubles win, and Declan Forth picked up a victory at No. 2 singles for the Firebirds over SMNW’s Austin Mitts, 9-4.
