40 years ago: Survey says many alums happy to recommend KU

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Oct. 26, 1974:

Kansas University alumni gave a thumbs-up to their alma mater in a recently released survey. Eighty percent of the 1,269 alumni responding to the survey said they would like their children to attend KU, and most respondents said their education had helped prepare them for their careers. “We think it says something about KU when that proportion of alumni feel their experiences here were valuable enough to want their children to have the same opportunities,” said Jerry Hutchison, associate vice chancellor for academic affairs. Five thousand questionnaires had been sent to alumni of the classes of 1963 through 1973 representing every school and almost every field of study.
