Lawrence Community Shelter executive director to resign after six months on the job
The Lawrence Community Shelter has announced the resignation of executive director Steven Robinson, effective Dec. 16.
The shelter’s board of directors named Brian Blevins as the interim executive director once Robinson steps down, according to a news release. Robinson took over the position in June after Loring Henderson, the executive director since 2005, retired.
Robinson began the job with 25 years of nonprofit fundraising and leadership experience.
“The board wishes to thank him for providing leadership resulting in improved outcomes for guests of the Shelter including increases in permanent jobs and housing,” the board said in the statement.
