A Lenexa man died Monday after the car he was driving left the roadway and rolled in Jefferson County, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Ronald Heugel, 71, was the only occupant of the vehicle, the report said.

He was traveling down U.S. Highway 24 around 3 p.m. when his van left the road. The report said he re-entered the highway but overcorrected, causing his vehicle to slide across the road and into the southbound ditch.

The vehicle then began to roll and came to rest on a high tension wire.
