A 38-year-old Lawrence man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after allegedly discharging a firearm during an early Friday morning dispute at the North Lawrence home he shares with two relatives.

Clifton Lee Marshall was booked into Douglas County Jail after first being treated for an unrelated medical condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman.

McKinley said police arrested Marshall after being dispatched to a disturbance before 6 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of North Street. There, McKinley said, Marshall had intervened in a dispute between two other family members and fired a gun inside the house. No one was struck by the gunfire, McKinley said.

Marshall was also booked on suspicion of criminal discharge of a firearm and making criminal threats.
