Style Scout: Maxwell Gustav Moore

Clothing details: Shoes, 2, Savers; pants, , Savers; dress shirt, Christmas gift from my mother.

Name: Maxwell Gustav Moore

Age: 20

Hometown: Gardner

Time in Lawrence: Two years

Relationship status: I have a girlfriend.

Occupation: I’m studying English with a minor in journalism.

Dream job: Something in book publication or editing. Eventually, I’d like to be a writer or professor.

What were you doing when scouted? I was removing stickers from books, cleaning trade books and about to start stocking some shelves.

Describe your style: I do get a lot of the “no-no word”: hipster! It’s kind of comfortable, not-too-tight pants and some shoes that I found pretty cheap and I just go with it.

Fashion trends you love: For summer, I like to wear shorts above the knee with some tall socks with a pair of comfortable “walking around” shoes and a button-up shirt.

Fashion trends you hate: A flock of girls wearing neon Nikes. I call them the Neon Nike warriors! The more neon, the better. For guys, it’s the Shark Surf Shop shirts with pastel shorts and sperry shoes. But to all their own, I guess. I really don’t care what people wear.

Fashion influences: Whatever catches my eye. I like to go into places like Wild Man Vintage on Mass. St. I kind of just go into there to see what the mannequins look like. I usually trust people who put clothes on mannequins.

What would you like to see more or less of in Lawrence? I’d like to see people try to develop their own style. It breaks my little heart seeing people wearing the same thing over and over again. Less dreadlocks.

Tattoos or piercings: I usually have my nose pierced with a septum piercing but I lost one of the balls recently so I had to go without it today. I also have a tattoo of Beemo from “Adventure Time.”

What type of music do you like? I’m in a math rock/emo-rock/punkish rock band, so I listen to a lot of that.

Tell us a secret: I wrote a book recently. My dad doesn’t know it’s about him but he fully supports and it’s not exactly the nicest book.
