Seabury reaches sub-state final

? Thomas Uhler scored the game-winning basket with 1.5 seconds left to lift the Seabury boys basketball team over Mission Valley Friday in the sub-state semifinal matchup.

The Seahawks took on Mission Valley without point guard Bryce Copeland, and Mikey Wycoff was not 100 percent with an ankle injury, but Seabury coach Ashley Battles was impressed with how his team adjusted.

“We are really banged up,” Battles said. “We basically played with six guys, so we played a little slower than we usually would have.”

Wycoff led the Seahawks with 10 points. Uhler and Avery Rouser scored eight points apiece.

Seabury (14-6) will play Olpe in the sub-state championship game at 7:30 tonight at Mission Valley High School.
