4:15 p.m. update: 23rd Street has reopened.

Officers are rerouting traffic and blocking sidewalks along 23rd Street due to a 4-inch gas main leak near the intersection of 23rd and Alabama streets about 3 p.m. Thursday.

As of 3:25 p.m., Douglas County dispatch said motorists should avoid 23rd Street from Louisiana Street and Naismith Drive.

No evacuations are necessary at this time.
