Topeka ? The Kansas Republican Party has filed an ethics complaint against Democrat Jean Schodorf, who is running for secretary of state against GOP incumbent Kris Kobach.

The complaint alleges that Schodorf’s campaign violated campaign finance law by soliciting political contributions from lobbyists during the legislative session, according to Kansas Republican Party Executive Director Clay Barker.

Marcus Williamson, a spokesman for the Schodorf campaign, said the campaign has posted the proper notice on all online fundraising efforts that any contributions must comply with Kansas law. “Any physical contributions that have been made that violate those statutes were returned,” Williamson said.
