Spencer Museum gets World War I art

The Spencer Museum of Art has been given a large collection of World War I era art.

The university said in a release that the museum has received the collection belonging to Eric G. Carlson. The gift includes more than 3,000 pieces of graphic art, paintings and textiles largely from 1914 to 1918. The gift expands the museum’s already significant collection of World War I art.

The university says Carlson, who taught art history professor at other colleges and universities, is also a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association.
