Gov. Sam Brownback is expected on Friday to name three people to the Kansas Board of Regents.

Appointments to the board, which oversees higher education in Kansas, are seen as among the most important made by the governor.

In his first appointments to the regents in 2011, Brownback picked Fred Logan Jr., Robba Moran and Kenny Wilk.

In his second group of appointments, made in 2013, Brownback named Shane Bangerter, Helen Van Etten, and Ann Murguia.

The terms of Mildred Edwards, Tim Emert, and Ed McKechnie expired in June, creating the new vacancies. Board terms are for four years.

The regents plan to hold a work retreat Aug. 12-14 to work on a proposed budget for higher education and other issues.

He is setting up higher education in Kansas for Corporate Takeover. Sam Brownback cannot be trusted.

Bet the Koch's have already provided him with the names he's to announce. Hope Dave Trabert isn't one of the names.
