The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County until 11:15 p.m.

The warning is for northern Douglas County, southeastern Jackson County, all of Jefferson County and northeastern Shawnee County.

The NWS reports a severe thunderstorm was located near Meriden, heading east. The storm features 60 mile-an-hour wind gusts.

Earlier Monday evening, the NWS also issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 a.m. Tuesday for Douglas, Anderson, Franklin, Osage, Coffey, Lyon and Morris counties.
