Wind advisory issued for Douglas County

A wind advisory warning has been issued for Douglas and several other counties by the National Weather Service.

The wind advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Monday. Until that time, winds are expected to hold around 30 miles per hour, with gusts reaching as high as 55 miles per hour.

Driving along east-west roadways, such as Interstate 70 and Interstate 35, will be difficult. Visibility may drop to a mile or less due to light precipitation, the service said.

The service recommends measures be taken to ensure trash cans, lawn furniture and other outdoor objects are secure.
