40 years ago: Two arrested in rural burglary

From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Jan. 25, 1974:

Two men were under arrest today in the investigation of a robbery earlier this week at the rural home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer C. Flory. Terrance Wayne Drennon and Jerry Dean Zilner, both 18, were arrested and held in the Douglas County Jail with bond set at $40,000 each. Drennon had been questioned first in the incident, and Zilner had turned himself in for questioning after he learned officers wanted to talk with him, Sheriff Rex Johnson said. Some of the items taken in the burglary had been recovered upon the arrests, Johnson said. Mr. and Mrs. Flory, both in their 70s, had been accosted by an intruder and forced at gunpoint to go to an upstairs room, after which the house had been ransacked.
