City begins special pick-up service for yards
Mild weekend temperatures this winter have led to larger piles of yard waste left out on residential curbs, Lawrence officials report.
As a solution, the city has started a pilot program to collect yard waste separate from trash for the remainder of the season. The special service will be available until March, when the city-wide Monday pick-ups resume. To sign up for pick-up service, call the Solid Waste Division at 832-3032 or fill out the form at www.lawrenceks.org/swm.
