Full roster of Read Across Lawrence events revealed

The Lawrence Public Library announced its full roster of events for its Read Across Lawrence program, which will revolve around the novel “Housekeeping,” by Marilynne Robinson and its themes.

The kickoff and concluding events were previously announced for Feb. 9 and March 6, respectively.

The rest of the functions include:

• Nerd Nite Lawrence, 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Pachamama’s, 800 New Hampshire St. Love gone wrong, sexuality and an ode to “Housekeeping” will be the night’s themes.

• “Housekeeping” book discussions, 3 p.m. Feb. 18 at Babcock Place, 1700 Massachusetts St. and again at 4 p.m. March 6 at Pioneer Ridge-Assisted Living, 4851 Harvard Road.

• Book discussion with Lucia Orth, the author of “Baby Jesus Pawn Shop.” 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at Signs of Life Bookstore, 722 Massachusetts St.

• Book discussion with Leslie Von Holton, program officer for the Kansas Humanities Council. 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at Percolator, in the alley behind 913 Rhode Island St., and again at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Wine Cellar beneath La Parilla, 724 Massachusetts St. Call 843-3833 to reserve space for the second event.

• “Who Lived in My House?” 10:30 a.m. Feb. 22 at Watkins Community Museum, 1047 Massachusetts St. Call 843-3833 for reservations. A workshop to discover the histories of houses.

• Buried in Treasures: How Hoarding Happens. 2 p.m. Feb. 23. Location to be announced.

• Film showing of the 1987 adaptation of “Housekeeping.” 7 p.m. March 4 in the Woodruff Auditorium of the Kansas Union, 1301 Jayhawk Blvd.
