Read Across Lawrence kickoff event scheduled for Feb. 9
The Lawrence Public Library announced that its kickoff event for the 2014 Read Across Lawrence program is set for 4 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Lawrence Arts Center.
The event will feature a presentation by Shane Lopez, an author and Gallup Senior Scientist. Lopez is a researcher on the topic of hope, one of themes of RAL’s selected book, “Housekeeping,” by Marilynne Robinson.
Following the presentation, the library will hand out free copies of “Housekeeping.”
More information on additional events and times will be available in the future, according to a statement from the library. The program concludes with a talk from Robinson at Plymouth Congregational Church on March 6.
