Vendors showcase products, services at annual Home Show

Whether you’re building a new home, renovating an old one, or just needing to get out of the house, the Lawrence Home Show is an excellent opportunity to shop for any of your home-related needs.

The Lawrence Home Builders Association is holding its annual Home Show this weekend at the Crown Toyota Pavilion,3430 S. Iowa St. The show has brought together 64 exhibitors to show off their home-related products and services in one spot.

Chris and Ginny Love attended the show hoping for some helpful information on their big upcoming project.

“Well, we bought some land and we’re building a house next year,” Chris said. “There’s a lot of good stuff out here.”

Even if you’re not planning a project quite so big, it’s a great opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy the weather.

“We’ve got cabin fever,” said Joe Herynk of Lawrence. “And it’s a lovely day today so we had to get out of the house.”

The exhibitors have pulled out all the stops with this show. Most have large displays of their products for visitors to see, touch, and experience first hand. But selling a product may not be their only purpose at the show.

Stanci March, a project developer with Cromwell Solar, is an exhibitor at the event who’s company has partnered with Mid America Bank in Baldwin City to offer a lease-to-own solar panel option for homeowners.

“We’re out here to educate people about the program and let them know that there is a new energy option available to them,” March said.

Also at the show was Lindyspring Drinking Water, showcasing their water filtration systems.

“With the lake and the river out here, Lawrence has got some troubled water,” said Jerry McCart, representative for Lindyspring.

Along with solar panels and new faucets, homeowners can also view new siding, window, flooring appliances, landscaping, fire safety and security systems for their homes at the show.
