City sets dates to collect Christmas trees for recycling

Once the holiday season passes and it’s time for revelers to pack up their decorations, Lawrence residents will have two opportunities to recycle their Christmas trees.

Residents are asked to place their live trees on the curb by 6 a.m. on either Dec. 29 or Jan. 5 for collection. The trees will be used for wildlife habitat, according to a city news release. Residents are asked to remove all artificial items from the tree, such as tinsel, lights, tree stands and other ornaments.
