It is the plan of the club to put the links in the best possible shape so that it will prove an attraction for the state meets in golf. Experts who have looked at the links say that it is by far the best in the state both for distance and natural hazard.”
  • “After a number of years of talk and little action the inter-urban line from Bonner Springs to Lawrence is to be realized as the company promoting the line has let the contracts for grading for the track. The definite date for the beginning of work has not yet been set, but according to authorities it will be in the very near future as the contractors are hiring men and teams. This line has been spoken of in mythical terms for a number of years, but now the reality is at hand and all going well the cars will be running in a few months.”

The Glasco basketball team is the champion in its part of the state and it is willing to meet any and all comers, the proceeds above actual expenses to go to painting the poles for the Red Line. The boys have issued a general challenge, but of course they cannot meet any date that may be suggested. They will be glad to get all challenges and will then arrange a tour, playing such towns as they can conveniently make. This is a novel plan to get the money to paint the poles and at the same time it will show the Glasco boys up in a favorable light.”
  • “Following up the plan to make the water planet more efficient, the Lawrence Water Company is making preparations to increase the volume of water produced from the wells. The plan of increasing the flow of water is to sink a six inch pipe in the bottom of the wells to bed rock and to drive points out from the sides of the well…. With the new accessory pipes in these wells it is estimated that the supply of water will be doubled. It will at any rate be increased.”
