The Kansas University volleyball team was voted second in the Big 12 preseason poll, released Friday.

The Jayhawks, who finished second in the nine-team conference last season, earned 53 points and one first-place vote, behind Texas’ 64 points and eight top votes.

On Thursday, the Big 12 named three Jayhawks All-Big 12 preseason selections and another the Preseason Freshman of the Year.

KU opens its season against Utah Valley on Aug. 29 at Horejsi Center.
