Kansas University football coach Charlie Weis announced through a press release Friday that junior Dylan Admire would forego his final two years of eligibility to concentrate on academics.

Admire, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound former center who moved to tight end last season, is set to graduate in December and plans to immediately pursue a career in strength and conditioning.

Admire, who arrived at KU a semester early after graduating from Blue Valley West High a semester early, leaves the program on good terms.

"I fully support Dylan's decision," Weis said in the release. "He has been model student-athlete and we wish him all the best."

Admire played in 16 games during the past two seasons, both on offense and special teams, and was a 2012 academic-all Big 12 first team selection who has been on the athletic director's honor roll all seven of his semesters at Kansas.

"I am very proud of my time with the Kansas football program," Admire said. "I am thankful for the opportunity I have had to be a part of the team and of the friendships I have gained. I look forward to supporting my teammates in Memorial Stadium this fall. Once a Jayhawk, always a Jayhawk."
