Lawrence native Michael Andrew had one top-10 finish at the Arena Grand Prix Series in Mesa, Ariz., last weekend.

Andrew, 15, took eighth place in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 57.16. He finished a few seconds behind winner Arkady Vyatchanin (54.40), who earned a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics.

Andrew also placed 12th in the 50 free, 26th in the 100 free, tied for 19th in the 100 breast and was 18th in the 100 fly. Notably, five-time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte and 18-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 fly.
