Eastbound K-10 no longer closed near Eudora following afternoon car fire

Traffic is no longer delayed on eastbound Kansas Highway 10 near Eudora as firefighters and police cleared the scene of an early afternoon vehicle fire.

Eudora Police Chief Bill Edwards said police and fire officials responded to a “fully engulfed” van just before 12:15 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., responders reported that the fire was out.

A Kansas Department of Transportation official confirmed that eastbound lanes were temporarily closed at 12:20 p.m. Edwards later said that police cleared the scene around 1:30 p.m. The cause of the fire was not yet determined, Edwards said, but no one was injured.
