Kansas University’s Michael Stigler and Sydney Conley were named Big 12 Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Stigler turned in a season-best and NCAA-leading time of 49.35 in the 400-meter hurdles last weekend at the Kansas Relays. Stigler’s time was the fastest by a collegian at the Kansas Relays since 1981 and the best time in the NCAA and the fifth-fastest time in the world this year.

Conley turned in the best long jump of her career as she also picked up the event victory at the Kansas Relays. Conley hit a top mark of 6.50 meters (21 feet, 4 inches). The mark is the third-best in the NCAA this year.
