Douglas County is included in a severe thunderstorm watch that the National Weather Service issued for much of eastern Kansas on Sunday.

The storms are capable of producing nickel-sized hail and lightning, according to the National Weather Service. The thunderstorm watch is in effect until 7 p.m.
