City commission gives city manager good marks, but waits to discuss possible pay raise

Lawrence City Manager David Corliss got good marks for his work over the past year, but he hasn’t yet gotten a raise for the future.

City commissioners met in executive session for about two hours Tuesday afternoon to review the performance of Corliss, who has served as the city top administrator since 2006.

Afterward, Mayor Mike Amyx said commissioners were pleased with Corliss’ work and would have a separate conversation about Corliss’ salary and benefits in coming weeks.

“We’re pleased with the job Dave has done, and appreciate fully that he is our city manager,” Amyx said.

As the city manager, Corliss oversees the city’s budget and all personnel of the city, except for the city auditor, who reports directly to the City Commission. Corliss’ current salary is $140,000 per year.
