KU golfer Kawinpakorn tied for seventh

? Yupaporn Kawinpakorn struggled early but recorded a pair of birdies on the back nine to shoot a 4-over 76 in the second round of the SMU Golf Invitational on Saturday.

Kawinpakorn, a Kansas University sophomore, entered Saturday as the individual tournament leader, but her two-day total of 147 left her in a tie for seventh.

Elizabeth Mallett of North Carolina leads with a two-round total of 141.

Kansas’ other scores: Pornvipa Sakdee, tied for 23rd, 153; Minami Levonowich and Meghan Potee, tied for 28th, 154; and Thanuttra Boonraksasat, tied for 64th, 161.

KU sits fifth in the team race with 605, trailing Baylor (591), LSU (595), North Carolina (597) and UT San Antonio (604).

The tournament will concluded with a final round today.
